Letting the days go by/water flowing underground

I sitting at my desk, copying information about early species domestication in the Andes, while on my computer screen James Bond Rochester declares his undying passion for Jane, rather than Romana I Blanche Ingram. Spencer used the last bowl this morning, so I've just finished my breakfast of honey nut cheerios out of a smallish tupperware. Later, I'm gonig to go sit in a classroom for a couple of hours while a balding Russian man issues death threats and praise at near equal rates.

There are times that I suspect the rest of my life is not quite going to measure up in terms of the occassional bizarreness that is college living.

Under this national rain cloud, I'm getting soaked to the skin

Except that I have my trusty brolly. (No, that's not what mine really looks like. More's the pity.)

It's just poured here the last couple of days. It's been kinda fun; I've gotten to try our my new water-proof, early birthday shoes, which have been massively awesome. (Hey, I can like, walk around outside without soaking my feet in the process! Neat!) It also gave me a good excuse (not that I really needed one) to make spicy peanut veggie soup on Halloween.

Otherwise, it's pretty much just back to your regularly scheduled school week here. I have a Proofs test on Friday, a calc test next Wednesday, and Physics and Logic tests the Friday after that (which is, incidentally, the last day before Thanksgiving break. I think they're trying to make us really grateful.)

Oh and hey, the election's tomorrow! That's kinda nice. If only so it'll be over with and I'll (maybe!) not have to hear any more about it from Spencer. Oi. Right-wing conspiracies this, paranoid website posters that. Almost makes me want to vote for McCain just to see how apoplectic I could make him. Hmm... *ponders*

*It should, at this point, be noted that google has a disappointing selection of images to go with the word "apoplectic". Though it did come up with one of a naked Katy Manning cuddled up to a Dalek. So...there you go then. I think.*

And to finish up this post, some more of what everyone needs: rapping Luther. No, really. I think that the ELCA should get permission to run this on commercials or something.

I wish I could figure a way 'round this...

...she says, like a sad song.

Poor Stevie. Though, on a related note, they played a really sped up, peppy version of Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere for the first 6 or so mins of aerobics this afternoon. That made me giggle on the inside. I was not giggling when the last 15 mins of class got cut off by a shrieking fire alarm. Ah well; less ab work for me.

But! I wish I could figure away 'round this proofs homework. Or mosquito bites. I think that, at this moment, given a choice between getting rid of my proofs homework or these insect bites, I'd pick the bites. Gaaaah.

Of course, ask me again in an hour when I'm not yet done finishing these stupid truth tables. I may have a different answer for you.

grrcontrapositivesgrr...

Labour Day weekend was fun, though. *Teddy conjures up the mental image of a weekend devoted to Tony and Gordon, is disturbed* Lots of fun telly watching and pizza making. I love love love my toaster oven. Engineer's gift to college students, honestly. Though, depressingly, it's not that great at making actual toast. Good thing I have my 6 dollar backup Target toaster (it has a Pop Tart setting labelled on it!).

Right, back to proofs. Le sigh. But first! Time for this evening's macro, courtesy of David Tennant, Hamlet, and a old school DW reference:

Doctor Who?

Well, in the last two days, Teresa and I have gotten through twenty episodes of DW. Granted, they're only half hour eps, but that's still ten hours of lateseventies/earlyeighties British sci-fi. And goodness, but Tegan's annoying.

And yes, Mom, we've had yogurt. It was tres nice :)

Downloaded the new firefox version yesterday; it's quite nice, I think. Everything looks... cleaner, I think. Quite good. Plus, the download window now hsow more information, which I appreciate.

I have some proofs homework to do this weekend, though it's not due until Wednesday, and it looks much easier than the logic puzzles we've been doing, So that's good. And my physics prof, looking over my first lab reports, said that the formatting looked good, so that was a relief. Whether he likes my analysis is another question, but at least the presentation was all right...

And now, for you pretty TG macro of the day:

She's a maniac, maniac... (about school)

Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay.

Right. Okay. I leave in half an hour. *Will not be ill in the meantime*

Heard Spencer clomping around at 6:30, and there was a note for me on the white board when I went downstairs for brekkie, informing me what time he'd left. Bless.

Right. Calculus first, followed by Proofs, then Logic, then finishing up with Physics. Okay. Right.

But now, for something completely different:

and,

Because every day should begin with a little bit of the BBC. Macroed, when possible.

I don't have a water bottle at the moment, but fortunately I found alid for one of the fairly large tupperware-brand cups. That should see me through the day.

Gaaaaaah, okay. *Runs away to compulsively brush her hair and repack her backpack*

Tacos pt. 2

Tacos turned out well. Spence has taken to not using prepackaged seasoning mix; instead he spices it himself with powders of cumin, garlic, chili, and probably other stuff too. I wasn't getting close enough to the oven to take a look.

Plus, there were Kettle Chips! This whole roommate thing isn't such a bad deal, turns out.

Going to start a load of laundry now; clean clothes for school ftw!

And for Mom, who wanted to know where all the Daleks had gone:
